Through evidence based therapy, creativity, and play, I support children in building healthy relationships, recognizing personal resilience, and celebrating their emotional growth in collaboration with parents and caregivers.
A Place to Grow
Background
I have worked with children and adolescents, and their families in different settings for almost two decades.
Before becoming a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist (LMFT #158788), I spent more than ten years as an elementary school teacher. That experience began to shape how I understand children, learning, and emotional development. In the classroom, I saw how deeply emotional well-being, self-regulation, and relationships influence a child’s ability to learn, feel confident, and thrive.
I earned my Master’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Florida. Over time, my work increasingly focused on social-emotional learning and supporting students through the relational and emotional challenges that arise in childhood and adolescence. This work ultimately led me to pursue working with children as a licensed therapist.
I earned a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from The Wright Institute and became a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Throughout my career in both education and mental health, I have worked with children and adolescents across a wide range of settings. My experience includes classroom teaching, work within an independent all-girls school, community-based mental health services at Edgewood Center for Children and Families, and providing school-based therapy in both Oakland Unified School District and San Francisco Unified School District.
Working across public schools, independent schools, and community mental health settings has given me a broad understanding of the academic, social, and emotional environments children navigate. This range of experience allows me to support children and families across diverse contexts with sensitivity and perspective.
